Ingredients and Seasoning for Easy Egg Bake:-
- 225g/8oz cold butter, chopped
- 350g/12oz plain sifted flour
- 100g/3.5oz Golden Brown Sugar
- a pinch of salt
- 280gm meat 10oz
- 1 small egg
- powdered sugar powder
Simple minced meat pie steps
- Add the cold, melted butter to the sifted flour in a large bowl.
- To prepare the dough, rub with your fingers until combined. Then add 100 grams of brown sugar and a pinch of salt.
- Shape the dough into a ball - do not add liquid - and fry briefly. The dough will be stiff like shortbread dough. You can use the dough right away or put it in the fridge for later.
- Preheat oven to 200°C / Gas 6 / Fan 180°C / 392°F. Place two 12-hole pieces with 18 holes, and press a walnut-sized dough ball into each hole.
- Pour 280 grams of minced meat into the pan.
- Take balls of dough smaller than before and roll them with your hands to cover the cake just enough to form a round top. Put the buns in the lids, and gently press to seal the edges - they stick together on their own, so you don't need to seal them with milk or eggs. (Cakes can now be frozen for up to one month.)
- Beat some eggs and brush the edges of the cake.
- Bake for 20 minutes until golden brown. Leave to cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then remove on a tray.
- To serve, sprinkle powdered sugar. They will keep in an airtight container for 3 or 4 days.
